SPONSORS SOUGHT FOR THE 22ND ANNUAL GREAT ZUCCHINI RACE !

It's that time of year again.....the zucchinis are thriving and racing to outgrow all the other squash in the gardens and fields.  And it's time for you to design your wildest and fastest zucchini racers to be the winner in our annual extravaganza, no-holds barred, race to the finish on September 15th !

Race coordinator extraordinaire Betsey Wittick would like to enlist a few willing or unwilling sponsors of the race.  Be the first on your block to join the intrepid Cris Ugles as a race sponsor, and let us know if you would like to pony up $75 or $100 to support this major community event.  Special perks include a pre-race glimpse of the rigs and special seating or standing as the crowds allow.

What's Fresh

At every Market our farmers have new produce picked farm fresh and healthy for you!  Get there early for your choice of favorites and help the earth by keeping the 'farm to fork' distance to a minimum!

Sweet corn, cauliflower, broccoli, fennel, beets, carrots, cucumbers, pickling cukes, garlic, sweet onions, squash, and many varieties of new potatoes are just now being harvested. And those little sweet strawberries are available every week. We have oysters and clams from Thorndyke Bay fresh every Saturday and delightful varieties of goat cheese from Port Madison Farm.  Ocean Tuna is back from fishing in the offshore waters of the northeastern Pacific and are bringing their sashimi grade, Pacific Albacore to the Market.

The beautiful bouquets of local flowers arranged artistically by our farmers will take your breath away and they will decorate your home until the next Market's vivid selection will dazzle you.

And check out the new creations by our wonderful artisans and crafters.

Fresh-picked blossoms, and plants for northwest gardens

Flowers make the Market a feast for the eyes; from the pinks and blues of spring to the riot of summer color and the golden tones of fall. You can take home three or four bouquets for less than what one would cost at a florist. And since these flowers are picked fresh from local gardens, they’ll stay beautiful for much longer than flowers that came from across the country, or overseas. So fill your home with color each week!

The Market also offers a terrific selection of landscape and vegetable plants. In the spring, you’ll find organic veggie and herb starts. Summer brings tomato starts and basil plants chosen for their performance in our climate. Local nurseries offer plants carefully selected for our northwest climate that will fill your garden with luscious foliage and flowers.
