The Bainbridge Island Farmers' Market

Think globally….buy locally
Bainbridge Island Farmers’ Market is open for the 2007 season
The Market kicked off the new season with the traditional tossing of the ceremonial goat cheese by Mayor Kordonowy on April 14th. The Market is now open every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1 PM at Town Square next to City Hall.

This is growing season and the produce is already bountiful ….choose this month from all sorts of fresh vegetables such as leeks, spinach, spring onions, broccoli, kale, fresh herbs, daikon radishes, bok choy, soup-making and stir-fry veggies, and rhubarb for the first pie of the season.  Pick beautiful spring flowers and blooms for your home as well as a wide array of vegetable starts for your garden from peas and onions to sweet peas to put in the ground in time for Mother’s Day!

The market also is known for the work of Bainbridge Island artists and craftspeople who create their fine products by hand ranging from fiber arts to visual arts, garden art to woodworking, jewelry, and natural skincare products. And our food vendors sell fresh breads, cheese, wine, shellfish, coffee, pastries, juice, jams and jellies as well as freshly prepared barbeque, Vietnamese vegetarian, or Mexican hot food.

To celebrate National Poetry Month, farm poetry by local poets and classical poets is displayed at the market.

Every Saturday the Market beats with live music provided by our local and visiting musicians…listen to the classical sound of Cesar Medel as we celebrate Earth Day on April 21 and the hot tunes of Whozyamama Band on April 28.  And the Market is also home to the 4-H club, the Children’s Market, and area non-profits that use the venue to reach out and offer information to the community.
